Communications Senior Manager – CSR/ESG, Community, & Foundation (hybrid/flexible)

Join our growing Corporate Communications and Public Affairs team. Experienced ESG/CSR communications strategist overseeing internal storytelling and public affairs support for our community, volunteerism, climate/sustainability, and philanthropic efforts, including the Truist Foundation. Role is hybrid/flexible and reports to the senior vice president of public affairs and media relations.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies for our community, volunteerism, climate/sustainability, and philanthropic efforts, with a focus on the Truist Foundation and CSR/ESG.
2. Develop proactive public relations to obtain positive media mentions on our philanthropic giving and focus on our communities and planet.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact for our President of the Truist Foundation and Chief CSR and ESG Officer.
4. Provide communications counsel to Foundation and CSR/ESG teams on internal and external communications and PR.
5. Counsel social media team on key issues.
6. Maintain Corporate Communications policy.
7. Create proactive internal and external communications plan to highlight Truist’s focus on our philanthropy, planet, and communities.
8. Plan content/messaging and graphics/videos for town halls, conferences, speaking engagements and events.
9. Provides formal or informal leadership to others and serves as a resource on complex solutions.
10. Drives the achievement of client, operational, project, service, and risk management objectives.
11. Create positive news to build the Truist Foundation brand, advance Truist’s purpose, and demonstrate our care for our communities.
12. Forge relationships with business leaders to gain knowledge, align communications objectives and goals with the business, and serve as a trusted consultative partner.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and related training
2. 7-10 years of progressive and related experience, with a focus on CSR/ESG and philanthropic communications
3. Proven leader and demonstrated team player with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, listening and management skills; ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization and counsel, negotiate, influence and inspire
4. Proven project management ability including managing the conceptualization and execution of multiple large, complex projects along with capability to make rational decisions under pressure
5. Strong, well-rounded communications skills including writing/editing, project management, publicity, and news judgment
6. Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities
7. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that affect our business
