When to Use Video and how to Begin Making Them Yourself - Steven Norris, Georgia Institute of Technology
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Byron's South End
As humans, we are unique in our reliance on sight as our dominant sense. And data overwhelmingly shows us that video content engages users, increases conversions, and returns on investment in ways that no other for of media can. In 2018, 15 of our top 20 most engaging pieces of content contained videos (each with 100,000+ views). If you're not making videos you're behind the curve and if you're not learning how to make them yourself you're more than likely missing opportunities and spending more money than you should. We'll show you videos that are creative and varied -- and how they rise above the rest of the clutter on social media. We will expand on our strategies to explain when incorporating video is the correct approach. We will focus on how to prepare to be on camera, quick tips on equipment and setup, and how to choose sound bites and b-roll - and how we do this on tight deadlines. You can do this, and we're going to talk about how to start!
Our May program is sponsored by the Dunhill Hotel.
