Hello PRSA Charlotte members!
As you all know, PRSA Charlotte wouldn't exist without dedicated volunteers serving on our Board of Directors and various committees to create the value you've come to expect from your local chapter, including our APR process, programming, member engagement, sponsorships, QCPR Awards, Communications Symposium and more.
Since the pandemic, volunteerism has waned at PRSA Charlotte. While our dedicated board members over the past few years have worked hard to keep our organization strong during challenging times, if we want to continue to be the engaged and well-programmed chapter we know and love, we need additional volunteer support to maintain our strength in the years to come!
We recognize many new members have joined our chapter in recent years, while others may have new roles or new professional goals that could include PRSA leadership and volunteerism. Are you passionate about PRSA, or looking to get more involved in the PR community in Charlotte? Maybe you know someone who is? We are proud to announce a nomination and application process for both the 2025 Board of Directors, and committee members beginning today through August 31!
Nominate yourself, or someone you know to: (1) serve as a leader on our Board of Directors to advance our organization and professional communications efforts in our city, or (2) as a committee member, where they can add value and insight in a specific area with a smaller time commitment. Being a committee member is also a great way for emerging leaders to gain professional development opportunities in new areas, and meet fellow comms professionals in Charlotte!

Serving on the Board has been, and continues to be, one of the best decisions I've made to expand and enrich my personal and professional growth. Our board members can truly make a difference not only for PRSA, but the wider communications community in Charlotte and beyond.
Board members' responsibilities include monthly meetings to provide strategic and financial oversight; monitoring trends, developments and priorities taking place within the profession that may impact PRSA; serving as the face of the organization; and collaborating with colleagues on programming and events; among other activities.
If you'd like to learn more about serving on the board, I welcome you to reach out to any of our current board members, or to me directly.
As a reminder, the deadline to submit a nomination or application is August 31, though we will always welcome interested volunteers at any time throughout the year!
Thank you for considering volunteering, and thank you for your ongoing commitment to PRSA!
