Chernoff Newman is a full-service, integrated communications agency that helps brands connect with audiences through strategic marketing, public relations, digital media and creative storytelling. The Social Media Strategist plays a key role in developing and executing social media strategies that support broader communications and marketing objectives. This position oversees day-to-day management of client social channels, develops and maintains content calendars, creates engaging content, supports influencer marketing campaigns and provides strategic recommendations informed by platform trends and performance insights.
Job Responsibilities
- Professional Service
- Develop and execute social media strategies that align with client objectives and audience needs
- Manage and oversee day-to-day activity across client social media channels
- Develop and maintain social media content calendars across multiple client accounts
- Create, write and publish high-quality social media content across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with account, creative and media teams to develop integrated social campaigns and content initiatives
- Quickly develop an understanding of a client’s industry, competitors, audience and social media landscape
- Monitor social media conversations and engagement opportunities, responding and escalating as needed
- Participate in influencer marketing campaigns, including influencer identification, outreach, relationship management and campaign execution
- Track, analyze and report on social media performance, providing recommendations for optimization and future strategy
- Stay informed on emerging platform features, trends and best practices to identify opportunities for clients
- Agency Contribution
- Contribute ideas during creative brainstorming sessions for existing clients and new business opportunities
- Support agency new business efforts through social media expertise and recommendations
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaign execution
- Lead by example and provide guidance and support to interns
Qualifications
- Four or more years of relevant social media experience, preferably within an agency environment
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field
- Experience managing multiple social media accounts across various platforms
- Experience developing and managing content calendars across multiple clients and platforms
- Strong understanding of social media strategy, content development and community management
- Experience supporting influencer marketing campaigns and creator partnerships
- Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, analytics and reporting tools
- Excellent writing, editing and communication skills
- Experience managing social media issues and responding to time-sensitive situations
- Strong organizational, project management and time management skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team environment

This is a hybrid position requiring team members to work from a Chernoff Newman office three days per week, with flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week. Candidates may be based in our Columbia, Charleston or Charlotte offices.
