Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator

As the Public Relations/Marketing Coordinator you will have the opportunity to assist in general public education and key stakeholders outreach with regard to operation of the I-77 Mobility Partners managed lanes project. This position will support the Corporate Affairs and Marketing department at I-77 Mobility Partners.

Functions key to success:

  • Serves as the first point-of-contact for stakeholders to provide information or customer service for project operations or construction
  • Helps develop, implement and facilitate the marketing and education plan for the I-77 Express Lanes
  • Develops and writes copy for marketing collateral and public relations materials such as, but not limited to, press releases, e-blasts, inserts, newsletters, brochures, fliers, fact sheets, calendars and maps. In addition, assists with the production of educational videos and tutorials
  • Manages website content and development, including writing, editing and uploading content on the project’s website. Manages the promoting of the website
  • Develops, manages, monitors and maintains projects’ social media content and platforms, as well as reviews and analyzes results
  • Coordinates and manages the social media marketing strategy and metrics
  • Gathers information on construction and project updates and inputs and distributes the data through all applicable communication channels such as mainstream and social media and website postings
  • Prepares a variety of monthly reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Coordinates and participates in a variety of community events
  • Assists project staff in producing and making presentations
  • Manages graphics, photography and video assets, as well as marketing and communications materials
  • Helps plan, coordinate and  implement special events related to products and services
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed



What you bring to the table:

If you have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field, you are half way there with the needed abilities for this position. Have you been working for at least 3-4 years with progressive responsibilities in similar position(s) that provided extensive writing experience?  If the answer is yes, you can check off another box. Also, if you are able to demonstrate strong writing, editing and proofreading as well as the ability to perform work accurately and executing multiple projects and paying close attention to detail that is the icing on the cake.

With success comes a high level of professionalism. We already know you possess the following qualities, but we just wanted to remind you of what’s important to I-77:

  • Sound knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used in public relations, marketing and strategic communications with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading and communications skills with AP style familiarity are required.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly is required.
  • Ability to organize and execute multiple projects, and pay close to attention to details.

Finally, in a technology driven world, it’s important to know your way around a computer. For this role, it will be important to know the basics of the following:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Photoshop and any graphic design software experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with website management and content development
  • Experience with social media platforms, monitoring and measurement tools
  • Candidates must submit writing samples (such as marketing materials, press releases, and social media and web content, for instance) and be prepared to take a writing test.
