Job Purpose:

Job Summary:
The Marketing and Events Manager, under the supervision of the Chief Advancement Officer, will build awareness, both internally and externally, for the RMHC of GC mission of providing essential services for families and promote healing when children need healthcare by using a variety of communications tools/platforms. This position will also provide event management and direction for RMHC of GC’s signature events such as, but not limited to, Jerseys & Jewels and Sport A Shirt.
Essential Functions:
Marketing and Communications
· Manage RMHC of GC communication strategies
- Create innovative marketing campaign content, outside of general fundraising initiatives, as part of the annual marketing strategy.
- Work with the Family Support Department to identify families for stories, videos, speaking engagements, etc.
- Work with the Volunteer Department to identify volunteers for stories, videos, speaking engagements, etc.
· Lead Social Media Strategy
- Work with the Chief Advancement Officer on the annual social media calendar.
- Create brand focused visuals by using Canva, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
- Take pictures of donors, volunteers and staff for social posts.
- Use Hootsuite (or other scheduling tool) to effectively plan and promote events, RMHC of GC brand, and fundraising efforts.
· Lead Newsletter Creation and Distribution
- Work with Chief Advancement Officer on the annual newsletter calendar.
- Edit/create content for monthly newsletters (collaborate with other departments where needed).
· Manage Website/ Provide Technical Support
- Timely update and create new and fresh content for the RMHC of GC website.
- Research and follow SEO trends/etc.
- Work with website design and hosting company when needed.
· Brand Coordinator
- Work with the Chief Advancement Officer to make sure the RMHC of GC brand is represented appropriately both internal and external.
- Update RMHC of GC Collateral (Business Cards, Thank You Cards, Birthday Cards, Etc.)
- Work with RMHC of GC printing company on order placement, design, etc.
· Lead Internal Communications
- Use the Creative Brief (or other system) to track all internal communications submitted.
- Maintain/update/create all internal family and staff communications including:
o Digital screens/monitors
o Weekly elevator calendar.
o Permanent signage throughout RMHC of GC Programs.
o All flyers posted throughout RMHC of GC Programs.
- Lead/manage RMHC of GC’s family communications app and work with Support Community developers when needed.
· Manage and Maintain Marketing Analytics Dashboard
- Update the Marketing/Comms Dashboard monthly and provide a report at all Marketing Committee Meetings.
· Lead Photography and Videography Core Committees
- Work with volunteer photographers/videographers to schedule photo and video shoots when needed.
- Schedule annual headshots for staff, volunteers, etc. when needed.
- Schedule photographers/videographers for events where needed.
Event Management
· Manage all RMHC of GC events and signature events (i.e. Sport A Shirt, Jerseys & Jewels, etc.).
· Manage the input/design/execution of all special events’ digital platform on GiveSmart (or other event platforms as identified by the Chief Advancement Officer).
· Design and produce all event creative which includes by not limited to signage, program, presentation, video production, etc.
· Help lead the Community Engagement Specialist on event logistics.
· Complete other event related tasks, as directed by Chief Advancement Officer, such guest/participant communication creation/distribution and serve as a vendor liaison.
Additional Responsibilities
· Attend all monthly Marketing Committee Meetings and provide detailed minutes to the Chief Advancement Officer for distribution to the committee.
· Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.
· Seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
Professional Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree.
· At least 4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations role.
· Must have experience in managing/supporting special events.
· Experience in a non-profit environment preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Strong interpersonal and communications skills; effectively communicate with donors, staff, volunteers, and the public at large.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
· Well organized, self-directed, and able to manage time and multitask.
· Strong computer and technology skills. (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or donor database equivalent a plus).
· Highly organized and detail oriented.
· Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Flexible, reliable, mature team player.
· Able to multi-task and adapt to continually changing priorities and needs.
· Capable of thinking out of the box, offering creative ideas and solutions.
· Possess positive, “can do” attitude.

· Able to lift, carry, move, and frequently transport objects weighing 30 lbs.
