Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager

Summary: The position of Communication and Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible for assisting in general public education and key stakeholders outreach with regard to the operation of the I-77 Mobility Partners managed lanes project. This position will support the Corporate Affairs and Communication department at I-77 Mobility Partners in North Carolina.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage elements of the marketing strategy, including research, budget, planning, and execution of promotional and educational campaigns
  • Work closely with a marketing agency and assisting with new campaign launches
  • Develops and writes copy for marketing collateral and public relations materials such as, but not limited to, press releases, e-blasts, inserts, newsletters, brochures, fliers, fact sheets, calendars, and maps. In addition, assists with the production of educational videos and tutorials
  • Manages website content and development, including writing, editing and uploading content on the project’s website. Manages the promoting of the website
  • Coordinates and manages the social media marketing strategy and metrics
  • Prepares a variety of monthly reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Develops, manages, monitors and maintains projects’ social media content and platforms, as well as reviews and analyzes results
  • Manages graphics, photography and video assets, as well as marketing and communications materials
  • Coordinates and participates in a variety of community events
  • Assists project staff in producing and making presentations in the community
  • Helps plan, coordinate and  implement special events related to products and services
  • Serves as point-of-contact for stakeholders to provide information or customer service for project operations or construction
  • Gathers information on construction and project updates and inputs and distributes the data through all applicable communication channels such as mainstream and social media and website postings
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field
  • 7 to 10+ years’ of experience of progressive responsibility in a similar position(s) that provided extensive writing experience

Professional Qualities:

  • Sound knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used in public relations, marketing, and strategic communications with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communications skills, with AP style familiarity, are required.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly is required
  • Ability to organize and execute multiple projects, and pay close to attention to details

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Photoshop and any graphic design software experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with website management and content development
  • Experience with social media platforms, monitoring, and measurement tools
  • Candidates must submit writing samples (such as marketing materials, press releases, and social media and web content, for instance) and be prepared to take a writing test
