Davidson College is a highly selective liberal arts college located 20 minutes north of Charlotte in Davidson, N.C. Since its establishment in 1837, the college has graduated 23 Rhodes Scholars and is consistently regarded as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country.

Davidson seeks to grow its advancement communications operation with an exceptional writer, collaborator and project manager. This assistant director will serve as a content creator and messaging strategist in support of the college’s overarching fundraising and engagement goals. Responsibilities include content creation across all mediums, oversight and management of large- and small-scale projects, collaboration with numerous colleagues, departments and divisions and relationship building among internal and external audiences. The assistant director should thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, highly collaborative environment. This position reports to the director of advancement communications.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • Minimum 3 years of communications or related experience

  • Flexibility and adaptability, especially in working collaboratively as part of a team.
