2026 Request for Speakers

The PRSA Charlotte Communications Symposium is the chapter's signature professional development event. Attendees represent communications professionals from a diverse employer base, including Fortune 500 corporations, marketing agencies, consulting firms, nonprofits, governments and universities.

This year, the Charlotte Chapter is planning two Symposiums:
      - Wednesday, April 29: This event will cover a variety of communications topics - Proposals due March 11.
      - Tuesday, September 22: This event will focus specifically on crisis, issues management and emergency communication. Proposals due July 30.

Key Considerations:
- Presentations should provide attendees with best practices, tactics and strategies, emerging trends and engaging case studies with immediate takeaways for attendees.
- We’re especially interested in timely topics relating to all that’s changed in our world in recent years. These topics will be given preference.
- PRSA Charlotte seeks experienced professionals with sharp presentation skills. Those with experience speaking at large, national or regional conferences will be given preference.
- This annual conference is an opportunity to share best practices and network with like-minded professionals; this is not an opportunity to promote individual businesses, services or products.

Presenters will be expected to:
- Provide at least three key takeaways that attendees will be able to immediately apply to their daily work.
- Provide a high-quality digital presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, etc.) on or prior to stated deadline.
- Allow organizers to provide input and feedback to ensure the presentation meets the needs and skill level of PRSA Charlotte members.
- Promote their participation and PRSA, as appropriate, as it pertains to the conference.

Presenters can expect:
- Valuable professional exposure through host chapter digital and social media channels, and conference materials.
- Complimentary registration for the full event.
- Networking opportunities with talented practitioners in the greater Charlotte region.

PRSA Charlotte seeks speakers who are willing to provide pro bono services in exchange for building relationships with the region's PR professionals and their organizations. If  you require a fee, please share that request for consideration.  Please understand that it may not be possible for us to accept proposals that require payment.
