"Publics" during the Pandemic -- Caring for Communities through COVID-19 and calls for racial justice The COVID-19 pandemic and events surrounding the death of George Floyd have required organizations of all types and sizes to carefully consider their "publics" and communicate to many diverse audiences in rapidly changing, uncertain and sometimes tense environments. For nonprofits, government agencies and mental health professionals, this has presented unique opportunities and challenges. Hear firsthand from Dr. Faith Drew with Connect Couples Therapy, Krista Terrell with the Arts and Science Council, and Danny Diehl from Mecklenburg County on how they have helped their organizations strategically navigate communicating with their publics throughout the various stages of the pandemic and protests, while balancing their responsibility to care for communities.
