Communications Coordinator

Company: Mt Hermon Lutheran Church
Location: Concord, NC
Salary Range:

? Design effective communication copy and materials using print, email, social media, and web-based platforms.
? Create communications newsletter, weekly bulletins, powerpoint presentations, and congregation wide announcements.
? Support communication efforts by serving as an information conduit for ministry teams, congregational members, outside vendors, and others.
? Edit and manage website.
? Write grants, contribute to annual reporting, and assist with historical documentation of written policies and edits to the constitution or other congregational documents as requested.
? Work with office staff to maintain communications records and facilitate diversity training.
? Maintain the church calendar, including scheduling meetings/events and reserving space.
? Coordinate building custodial services and maintenance.
? Other duties as requested.


Required Qualifications:
1-2 years experience with editing, print and/or website design or other relevant experience.  Technical proficiency with Microsoft products, including Powerpoint, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
 College degree or equivalent experience.  Excellent oral and written communication, with skills in persuasive writing and graphic design.  Savvy with technology and social media.  The ideal candidate is both creative and disciplined and has the ability to work collaboratively and independently.  This person can handle conflict in a positive manner and follow through on projects with little supervision.
