Why Mentor?

Mentoring relationships can give people the insights they need to take the next step in their careers, or give them the inspiration to truly excel. Mentors and proteges can share in each other’s successes and offer support during challenging career moments.

But mentorships are about more than just cheerleading sessions. It’s an opportunity to help guide newer professionals through the nuts and bolts of public relations, and show them how to turn theory into practice. It’s a mentor’s chance to help ensure that tomorrow’s PR leaders have the tools they need to move the profession forward. Its more than a relationship; it’s a responsibility.

Proteges should seek out the expertise of more experienced practitioners and find ways to apply invaluable advice to their careers. Mentors have traveled the roads ahead for proteges and can share what they’ve learned from the bumps and curves.
