Young Professionals
Are you new to Charlotte or new to public relations? Then the PRSA Charlotte Young Professionals might be a great way to get involved in our Chapter. You will meet energetic professionals in their first five years in public relations, while gaining experience and developing your PR skills.
The Young Professionals meet several times throughout the year for professional development programs and networking socials. Our events vary from lunchtime brown bag workshops and casual get-togethers to more formal evening panel sessions. In addition to providing programs, Young Professionals also takes on a pro bono project each year to give back to the Charlotte community. We volunteer time with a local nonprofit organization to strengthen its PR and marketing programs by providing assistance with strategic communications and with developing communications tools. This expands our professional skills, while furthering a mission that is meaningful to us.
Our definition of "young" is very broad, so as long as you are new to the profession and young at heart, you will fit right in.
While PRSA membership is not mandatory to attend these events, we encourage young professionals to join to further their career development. PRSA offers a variety of membership levels to accommodate any budget. Once a member, young professionals can take advantage of the chapter mentoring program and media directory specific to Charlotte-area news outlets.
